Methodology of data migration...

Receipt.
Upon delivery, it is important that we start the audit trial. Your media will be photographed and bar-coded with a unique identifying job number and a technician will be assigned. After being entered onto the system, you will receive an email receipt to ensure the handover complies with ISO270001 and our strict data protection controls.

Specification.
Before commencing the assessment, we will discuss the technical aspects including format, operating system, back-up software and data to be recovered. This will allow us to suggest an accurate plan of action, including timescales, together with a no obligation quote for the recovery.

Assessment.
The aim of the assessment is to provide the client with initial observations and plan a multi-level data recovery strategy. The assessment will define the price and timescales and is usually completed within two business days. Planning ahead prevents unscheduled downtimes, as well as having to take cost prohibitive measures to try and recover the data to get the organisation up and running again.

Recovery.
Once prices and timescales are agreed, the recovery process can be completed. Where possible we do not alter the integrity of the media, so that we can always revisit the media at a later stage. This means that once any physical damage is overcome, we work on a clone of the data.

File Listing.
So the client can be sure that we have recovered their mission critical data, we provide a file listing of all the recoverable files. This is usually accessed remotely from a link that we email. However we can also email listings as a .txt file attachment if preferred. At this stage we do ask that the client checks carefully and lists their important data for physical testing and verification.

Testing.
Although we verify all the files, we rely on the client to tell us what is most important. This enables us to physically open the files and ensure there is no corruption. Where there are proprietary applications required to test the files, we can email sample files allowing the client to test and ensure a seamless integration back into the system.
