How to Recover Data with Wondershare

Wondershare Data Recovery is a tool made to get back lost or deleted data from a variety of storage media. Here’s an overview of its key features and how it works.

Wondershare claims to be one of the most effective data recovery programs out there. Data can be recovered from computer and laptops (including the Recycle Bin), external hard drives, USB flash drives, digital cameras, SD cards, and more, and files able to be recovered range from documents and emails to photos, videos and music. File types include .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .psd, .avi, .mov, .mp4, .zip, .rar, .mp3, .aac, .wav, and .pst; this list is, in fact, not exhaustive, and Wondershare can recover multiple times this number of file types. The data recovery software boasts of an easy recovery process, a preview before recovery feature, a “save and resume recovery” feature, and the ability to narrow down what you want to recover.

Can Wondershare help me?
As for what kind of disasters Wondershare is equipped to cover, the data recovery manual lists several. Files can be lost accidentally (or deleted intentionally) and then apparently gone forever when the Recycle Bin is emptied; Wondershare Data Recovery will be the most help in these circumstances, as long as you haven’t overwritten the portion of the drive where your data was originally stored. An accidental partition is not uncommon, perhaps during the partition of another drive, with the drive in question selected accidentally. Virus and malware infections can also cause data loss; files can be damaged, corrupted, or deleted. A power or system failure, especially if data is being transferred, can cause data loss, although this could be a physical fault, meaning data recovery software won’t be able to help you. If there are any unusual clicking, ticking or scratching noises coming from your hard drive, power it down and consult a professional data recovery specialist; a sudden power failure can potentially cause a head crash.

How do you undelete files with Wondershare?
The free trial version of Wondershare Data Recovery only allows you to scan and preview lost items; if you want to actually recover any data, you’ll need to pay for the full version, around £30. Once installed, launch the software, and you’ll be given the opportunity to select which file types you want the data recovery tool to scan for. It depends if you’re looking for a particular file, or how much data needs sifting through, but we’d recommend narrowing it down a bit. If you do want to search the entirety of your drive for lost data, you can select all file types, but be warned, it might take a while. Next, you can select a location, for example a drive, or the Desktop/Recycle Bin. Again, narrow it down if you want a speedier search. You can select any local disks, as well as external removable disks like USB flash drives and external hard drives. You can also look for missing partitions within your connected drives. Once you’ve entered all of your parameters, the data recovery software will work its magic, and hopefully find the file(s) you’re looking for. As we previously mentioned, if you actually want to recover your data rather than simply preview it, you’ll need to pay for the full version of Wondershare Data Recovery.
